Sarah Olney UK MP Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for International Trade, and Wendy Chamberlain UK MP Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Work & Pensions recently supported our campaign by writing to the Secretary of State for International Trade, pressing for the frozen pensions issue to be part of reciprocal agreements linked to free trade agreements.
As you will see, from DIT’s response, they effectively passed the buck to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whose position we know only too well.
Nevertheless, the MP’s efforts will continue, spurred on by the fact that under the Triple Lock policy, state pensioners in the UK can look forward to an uprating next April in the region of 10%, while frozen pensioners get nothing.
Please feel free to share the information.
